Osteopathy is an effective form of manual therapy that uses a holistic and hands-on approach to the treatment of your joints and soft tissues. As an Osteopathic Manual Practitioner, I look at your body as a whole so I can get to the true cause of your pain. Once your asymmetries have been found, I’ll be able to realign your muscles, ligaments and bones so your body can self-heal and self-regulate.
Upon your initial assessment and treatment, we will do an in-depth review of your health history, the symptoms you are currently experiencing and any concerns you may have. Following your health history intake, I will give you a manual osteopathic assessment and treatment. This will include subtle manipulations to correct your body’s dysfunctions. At the end of your initial visit, a treatment plan will be developed based on your unique and specific needs.
During your follow up treatments, we will review and discuss any changes that have occurred since your last treatment and re-assess your structure to see how your body has improved. These follow up treatments are tailored to you and customized to what you need in order to discover and address the underlying cause of your pain.
Osteopathic treatment differs from massage therapy, chiropractic, physiotherapy and other similar treatments because we look at the body as a whole. I look to find and understand the collective mechanics within the body to find the true cause of your body’s dysfunction.
Osteopathic treatment can relieve and reduce symptoms including, but not limited to, the following:
Back pain
TMJ issues
Digestion issues
General musculoskeletal pain
Fatigue
Headaches and migraines
Neck and shoulder pain
Arthritis
Sleeping problems
Sciatica
